Mountain ginger belongs to a herbaceous plant that is very similar to normal ginger, but has harder leaves and stems than normal ginger, especially the aroma of this plant is very specific that no other species has. The tree grows wild in the wet mountainous areas, distributed mainly in the northern mountainous provinces such as Lang Son, Cao Bang, and Bac Kan, but the most concentrated and best quality are in Bac Son and Binh Gia and Van Quan districts in Lang Son province. Mountain ginger is usually harvested in the 12th day of the lunar month every year, planted at the beginning of the next year. Used to marinate dishes: Pork marinated with mountain ginger (crushed root, stem and leaves) will help the meat have a bright red color, delicious, nutritious, can be marinated for a few weeks to use gradually. Lang Son is a frontier mountainous province in the Northeast of Viet Nam.
